Where is Tosh?

Tosh is a small village in the northern part of the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located about 2400 m above sea level in the Parvati Valley. Though this place is not one of the most visited places in India, it is a real wonder very close to Kasol for people who wish to enjoy nature. As part of the Great Himalayan National Park, Kheerganga is an alpine meadow located at an altitude of 2,960m in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley. It is one of the best tourist spots in Himachal Pradesh which has a religious history to it.

Shivji’s son Kartikeya chose Kheerganga as his refuge, where he often meditated. As soon as his mother visited him, she offered to cook. It is said that she would cook kheer (rice pudding – an Indian dessert) in the hot water spring nearby, giving the water a milky white hue. Despite the fact that it could just be a mythical tale, the water here remains boiling hot throughout the year and retains the same rice water complexion.

Through Nakthan and Rudranag (13 km):

For those who wish to take the Nakthan route, cross the bridge after Barshaini and take a left from the Parvati river. The route through Kalga (15 km) is the less popular route as compared to Nakthan and Rudranag. If you choose this route, walk towards the right side of the bridge in Barshaini, and keep moving towards the Kalga village.
